About Us

Mercy Counselling is a psychological counselling service in Alberta. Our counselling services are accredited by the Council on Accreditation. Our services are provided in multiple languages – ask us about language availability.

Online Telepsychology Service: Available throughout Alberta

We also offer mental health and wellness workshops to community groups, businesses, and other organizations throughout Alberta.

Service Fees, Insurance Coverage, and Subsidies

Fees: Our fees are lower than what is recommended by the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. If you are concerned about affordability, Mercy Counselling will work with you to determine eligibility for a fee subsidy.

Direct-bill insurance: Mercy Counselling can direct-bill to a number of insurance providers and is recognized by many other insurance providers that do not have direct billing.

Common Questions

Q: Do you have to be Catholic to receive services?

No. Mercy Counselling is open to all members of the public. Our counsellors are trained to work with people who have a faith/spiritual belief, as well as those who do not.

Q: Our counsellors

Our counsellors have a minimum of a master’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related discipline. We also train Graduate student interns, doctoral residents, and provisionally registered psychologists, who are supervised by a qualified counsellor.

Q: Our funding

Our counselling services are partially funded by client fees, as well as by the Sign of Hope, the City of Edmonton Family and Community Support Services, the United Way of Central Alberta, the Government of Alberta, as well as other grant providers and private donors.
