The Spring Art Walk was a vibrant celebration of youth creativity, featuring inspiring artwork from CSS youth, students, staff, and Community Creativity Workshop participants. With strong community turnout and enthusiastic support, the event showcased the incredible talent, dedication, and diverse perspectives within our community.​

Our Immigration & Settlement Service hosted its annual Housing Event, bringing together landlords, newcomers, and community partners to discuss safe and successful renting.​

This year’s event focused on housing and fire safety, helping newcomers better understand rental responsibilities and safe living practices in Canada. We were also grateful to have Edmonton Fire Rescue Services on site, engaging families and children with their fire truck and sharing fire safety information with attendees.​

Participants also heard from Naveed Hakimi, who shared his experience of surviving an apartment fire after rebuilding his life in Canada as a refugee from Afghanistan.​

Sign of Hope, the charitable fundraising arm of CSS, provides funding for multiple programs each year, many of which are solely funded through donations. From September 30 to December 31, 2025, CSS runs its annual Sign of Hope fundraising campaign. Our goal is to raise $3 million to help meet the needs of vulnerable Albertans.
