About Jean LaFrance

Jean spent nearly 50 years in the social services sector as a practitioner, administrator and academic. He holds a Ph.D. in social work from the University of Southern California, is a former Alberta Assistant Deputy Minister for Social Services, and is the former Children’s Advocate for the province of Alberta. Jean has spent most of the last 20 years as the Department Head of the Social Work program at the University of Calgary - Edmonton Campus.
