Annual Charity auction seeks donations

Donations are being accepted for the upcoming 25th annual ATCO/Edmonton Sun Christmas Auction. Proceeds from the auction benefit four local charities: Catholic Social Services’ Sign of Hope, Christmas Bureau of Edmonton, Adopt-A-Teen, and the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation. The auction is set to take place this fall.

Each year, our supporters offer exciting auction items up for bid, from gift cards and special event tickets to vacation trips and collector items.

Last year’s auction, executive produced by Edmonton Sun Columnist Cam Tait, was met with overwhelming success, fundraising over $155,000 for the four charities, with more than 250 items up for bid. Tait will return as the auction’s executive producer for the second consecutive year.

This year, the four charities request that donations of items and experiences have a minimum $50 value, and minimum $100 value for gift cards. Donations will be accepted up until Saturday, October 15 at The Christmas Bureau (200, 4520-118 Avenue), the auction’s donation drop off location. Items can be dropped off between 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

For additional information regarding donation drop off, contact the Christmas Bureau at 780-454-6074.
